Signage Placement and Content Matter

The Sheraton Hotel in Seattle has been home to the JDRF Gingerbread Village for the past 19 years. Overall the display is very nice and the gingerbread houses are undeniably awesome. That being said, after 19 years in the same location, one would think that signage placement would no longer be an issue.

Clearly that is not the case. My favorite part about the nearly unreadable sign facing the wall is that this particular sign is being used to thank the sign printers. Part of the text reads, “JDRF would like to thank Image Mill for generously providing the signage that graces our environment and helps share the JDRF’s vital message with our guests.” Unfortunately to read this “vital” thank you, one has to climb around a piece of furniture. Finally when one Googles the 2011 Gingerbread Village all links imply this is the 19th annual event, too bad the sign at the entrance announces it as the 18th annual.
