More Fun in the Bathroom

Regular readers know I think bathroom advertisements are awesome. There are very few places in modern society where we are forced to just sit and take a second without a world of distractions. If you are not advertising in your bathrooms, you should be! At a complete minimum you should be increasing enjoyment at your facility, by providing fun facts related to your event, in your facilities. For example, I was in San Diego this week and visited the USS Midway Museum. This “museum” is the retired Midway aircraft carrier, featuring over 60 exhibits and 25 restored airplanes. There were many interesting parts of the museum but as the title suggests, I want to specifically mention the bathrooms. The women’s restroom featured 14 stalls. Each stall featured a different fun fact (yes, I checked them all) about boat terminology. For instance, one sign said:
Q: “Why are bathrooms called heads?”
A: “In the days of sailing vessels there was no plumbing. Therefore the crew heeded the call of nature by relieving themselves from a platform built at the front end of the hull, or “head” of the ship.”
