What’s That Say?

This week I attended a concert at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA and was again reminded of one of my favorite phrases, “logistics matter”. For the last five years or so it has been popular at concerts for wireless networks to sponsor the texting of comments onto the video boards around the venues. Sometimes prizes are associated with these texts and other times it is just to entertain patrons while the stage is changed in between acts. In this case, Verizon was sponsoring a seat upgrade where one texter was to be randomly selected for some of the best seats in the house. Unfortunately for the patrons at the show, four of the five screens projected the posts in so few pixels that the comments were nearly unreadable. When paying for a sponsorship make sure the vendor adequately meets the terms of its agreement. In this case I’m thinking Verizon got a raw deal on its branding effort.
