Fly Over - War Eagle Style

I’ve attended literally thousands of sporting events in my lifetime. Some of the most profound moments have occurred during perfectly timed fighter jet fly-overs. Modern amenities like climate controlled stadiums are awesome but typically they require roofs and roofs are deals breakers when it comes to fly overs.

I was interested to see how the Fiesta Bowl would produce The Star Spangled Banner and any other patriotic tributes. I figured there would be some famous musical acts, something with the US flag and that would be that. Well it turns out there weren’t any famous acts but there was a ginormous flag, the size of the field, to be exact AND a fly over. Grant it, fighter jets didn’t fly over, but a bald eagle did. It was pretty dang cool and that’s coming from a Duck fan. It was especially meaningful to the Auburn fans in attendance. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term “War Eagle”, this wiki-link is worth a glance. As a fan of a team with only one animal associated with it (Ducks), I enjoyed learning the back story of why Auburn's mascot is the “Tigers” yet they constantly say “War Eagle”.

Below is a Youtube video showing the Eagles’ majestic flight prior to the game.
