Helmets Aren’t Just For Batters And Ice Cream

By: katypolansky | Category: Concessions

Prior to this week I can’t recall ever seeing anything other than ice cream served in mini-batting helmets at baseball games. The Cincinnati Reds have a very nice dessert cart on its main concourse. Featured items included Reds logoed cheesecake pieces and candy bagged and served in mini-helmets. This is a great idea. People occasionally find it hard to swallow paying five dollars for a dollars worth of M&Ms. However, if the M&Ms come with a helmet that cost the team five cents to provide, then the five dollar price tag all of the sudden seams reasonable.  If your team is currently serving ice cream in helmets, then spend a few minutes thinking about other products that could be packaged in them as well. The power of packing food in a take home souvenir should never be underestimated.
