QR Coded Souvenir Cups

The Phillies souvenir cups are the first concession item I have seen that features QR codes. I like the idea of placing a QR code in front of a fan for an extended period of time. In this instance a fan is likely to see the code staring back at him from the cup holder in his seat for the duration of a baseball game, and as we all know, that can be a very, very, long time. The fan is also likely to take the cup home providing additional opportunities for the QR code to be scanned. This is a very good use of technology by the Phillies and I would expect QR codes to become a regular fixture on souvenir concessions in the near future.
