Details matter. Sometimes details can be the difference between calling a sex hotline and a charity. Think I’m kidding? This week Chad Ochocinco’s Ochocincos Cereal was recalled for just such an error in detail. Portions of the proceeds from the sale of Ochocincos are being donated to Feed The Children. The cereal packaging explains this and lists a phone number to call for more information. Unfortunately, the wrong toll free prefix was used and when the number printed on the box is called the caller is greeted by a seductive-sounding woman who makes some sexual references and then asks for a credit card number. Let this serve as a reminder to all who work in marketing that details are important.
