WBF Photo Booth

This past week Nike and USA basketball hosted the World Basketball Festival (WBF) in New York City. Some parts of this event were incredible in the positive sense and others were EPIC fails. There are a few future blog posts pertaining to this in the works.
In the NYC Niketown Nike set up a free WBF photo booth for fans. I’m certain buying and branding this machine wasn’t cheap, however, Nike seemed to be leveraging it well. In order to “receive” one’s image a user had to agree to a photo release. The user then had to supply an email address where the photo could be sent. Finally, the user was encouraged to visit the NYC Niketown Facebook page to see if his picture was posted. Through this booth Nike managed to get fans to give a photo release, supply an email (that has a pretty good chance of being a legitimate email, because most people who take the time to go through the process actually want to receive their photo) and drive traffic to the local store’s Facebook page. The limiting factor here is obviously the expense of creating a photo booth, however, if you have the budget to create a booth for your event, I would highly recommend it.
