History of Polansky Report
Polansky Report is the culmination of a life filled with sports and business. Katy Polansky, the founder of Polansky Report, has personally experienced and participated in sports on all levels. As a youngster growing up in sports crazy Eugene, OR she played everything. As she matured it became clear that basketball and javelin throwing were her two best games. After winning numerous junior national and international titles she concluded her high school career by breaking the United States high-school national record, resulting in a sixth-place finish in the 2000 Olympic Trials in the javelin throw.
Polansky played basketball for the Oregon Ducks and continued throwing javelin professionally on the side during her college days. Her athletic pursuits ended prematurely because of injury but her academic pursuits did not. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in finance from the honors business program and minor in communications. She also received an MBA from the Warsaw Sports Business Center at the University of Oregon, one of the most prestigious sports business programs in all of the country according to the Wall Street and Sports Business Journals.
Polansky’s work in sports is as varied as her athletic pursuits. She has worked as a promotions specialist in Minor League Baseball, celebrity golf tournament director, and researcher for companies such as the Oregon Sports Authority and ESPN. Her work has been published in ESPN The Magazine multiple times. During this work Polansky often became frustrated with the lack of documentation of promotions across sports and other entertainment platforms. Polansky Report was born in hopes of eliminating this headache for future promoters and fundraisers.
